Mindfulness for Health 8-week course

Thursday 26th September 10.30am to 1pm

Venue: Triratna Leeds Buddhist Centre, Leeds City Centre

This course teaches the skills to help people live well with long term health conditions.  Each week introduces key ideas and practices which help us to live well in the face of health challenges such as pain, fatigue, chronic illness, anxiety and depression. The course is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience of mindfulness.

The course will be taught by fully qualified and experienced Breathworks trainers from Leeds Mindfulness Co–op.

The course costs £220, concessionary rates £180 (low income) or £150 (benefits).
£15 discount for early bird payments made in full received before 9th September.

Mindfulness for Stress weekend course

Dates: Sunday 6th October, 20th October, 3rd November, 17th November

Venue: Triratna Leeds Buddhist centre.

Our next Mindfulness for Stress course begins on 6th October and will be run over 4 extended weekend sessions at fortnightly intervals. Each session will be a double session, so will cover 2 of the normal 8 weeks of the course. The sessions will run from 1:30pm until 5:30pm.

Each week introduces key ideas and practices. Particpants will learn to clearly perceive thoughts, physical sensations, emotions and events at the moment they occur without reacting in an automatic or habitual way.

By developing a new relationship with the conditions we find ourselves in we begin to respond creatively. Experiences don’t overwhelm us and we can remain steady through life’s ups and downs.

Mindfulness isn’t a cool and detached awareness, rather developing kindness and self compassion is at the heart of the course.  The course is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience of mindfulness.

The Mindfulness Garden 8-week programmes of mindfulness and gardening

Come and experience the benefits of spending time outdoors in a friendly , welcoming space, moving indoors as the weather gets colder. You will learn new skills and new ways towards well-being. The courses are FREE for people living in a Bradford postcode who are over 50, carers or in receipt of benefits. Everyone is welcome with others paying £6 low waged, £10 waged, per session. You can attend on a drop-in basis so come along even if you can’t make every week of the course.
